Our expedition commences in Marrakech, a vibrant tapestry of diverse cultures and crafts. The imperial city of Fes awaits, and on the first day, we traverse through breathtaking mountain landscapes, encountering architectural marvels like the ancient ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Valley of 1000 Kasbahs unfolds, adorned with blooming rose bushes, particularly near Kelat Mgouna, boasting the valley’s most enchanting rose gardens.

Throughout this immersive journey, you’ll visit Southeast Morocco’s wonders, including the Todra Gorge and the Dades Canyon, witnessing a transformation from hills to palm groves and desert-like plateaus on the route to Merzouga. A delightful camel ride through the dunes of Erg Chebbi awaits.

Upon reaching the Sahara, ascend the dunes to marvel at the sunset. As night falls, relish a traditional desert dinner by the campfire, serenaded by local Berbers and, weather permitting, spend the night beneath a blanket of stars. Tour Plan

Our 3-day desert tour from Marrakech to Fes starts from your accommodation in Marrakech to the Ksar of Aït-Ben-Haddou through the Tizi N’tichka Mountains. Once you get across the High Atlas of Morocco, the Ksar of Aït-Ben-Haddou would be your next destination. You are most welcome to discover the beautiful landscapes in this village through an hour walking tour. This particular village can be found on the southern slopes of the High Atlas. More precisely, it is located in the foothill area in the Province of Ouarzazate and it is the most popular one in the Ounila Valley. It is home to a historic series of kasbahs, you can see a touch of southern Moroccan architecture. Besides the houses surrounded by defensive walls, you will also find a river and a good restaurant where you can enjoy a beautiful panoramic view over the village of Ait Ben Haddou. After lunch, we continue our journey to Ouarzazate to visit the Kasbah Taourirt. After a visit to the cinema studio, we will head to Dades Valley, known as the Valley of 1000 Kasbahs to spend the night in a hotel in a fantastic canyon.
After a delicious breakfast accompanied by fresh air, we will take a short walk in the fields near your accommodation. Then we continue the journey to Merzouga. After a drive from Boumalne Dades to Tinghir, we can visit another great tourist spot in Morocco known as the Todra Gorge. Located on the east side of the High Atlas Mountains, this place is very famous for its canyons. The great view of the canyon has made it one of the most spectacular ones on the planet. Later we will head to Erfoud and on the way, we will see a unique irrigation system. We stop in Rissani to visit its main attractions and continue our way to the desert village of Merzouga. Once we reach Merzouga, we will go to the desert camp on camelback before sunset. This is a must-do activity as it is one of the most exciting.
Wake up before sunrise and climb the sand dunes early with your camera. This place offers great spots for beautiful pictures. Before we drive to Fes, you can shower and have breakfast at the hotel of the desert camp. The trip to Fes is quite long, on the way we see great locations like Erfoud, the Ziz valley, and Midlet during the trip. Midlet is a perfect town to have lunch in before continuing the journey. Once we get to Azrou, you have a great chance to see the Berber monkey groups in the cedar forest. Before we actually reach Fes, we drive to Ifrane. Ifrane is locally known as “Little Switzerland”, a winter ski area, built in a beautiful style by the French.
